My Name is Okoro

Until Samson Okoro finds himself in the pogrom in Northern Nigeria, his last name is like any other. His name is the difference between life and death. Although a minority and an Urhobo from the Midwest of the 1960's, the name Okoro makes him an Igbo man, the target of the genocidal rage in the buildup to the civil war. 

When he enters Biafra in search of Nneka, his Igbo wife, he finds refuge before he has to prove he is no saboteur. His in-law Udeze wanders through the war in search of his mother's love.
